History

Hacettepe University Vaccine Institute was established by the decision numbered 2017/11075 published in the Official Gazette dated January 11, 2018, and numbered 30298.

The Vaccine Institute is the first institute in Turkey dedicated to vaccines. Its objectives include providing education in the field of vaccines, conducting research on the necessity of vaccines and vaccine studies from perspectives of individual and public health as well as social, economic, and cultural dimensions, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders when needed. The institute was established with the awareness of meeting the need for trained human resources capable of contributing to the development of vaccine-related policies, through interdisciplinary approaches and by offering degree-granting educational programs that will train academics in the field of vaccines.
